Relational Skills Workshop Based on Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy (RLT)

by | May 11, 2026

Relationships can be one of the most meaningful parts of our lives, but they can also be one of the most challenging. Many of us want deeper connection, healthier communication, and less conflict, yet find ourselves repeating the same painful patterns over and over again.

You may notice conversations escalating quickly, shutting down when emotions rise, or feeling stuck in cycles where neither person feels fully heard or understood. Over time, these patterns can create distance, resentment, and disconnection, even in relationships where there is still a great deal of love and care.

That’s why Tanya, RCC, CRLT and Melissa, LMFT, CRLT are offering a four-part virtual relational skills workshop designed to help individuals and couples build healthier, more connected ways of relating.

Beginning May 31st, this live online workshop will run across four Sundays from 4:00-6:00pm PST/ 7:00–9:00 PM EST and will provide you with practical, relational tools you can apply immediately.

What You’ll Learn

Recognize the Conflict Cycles You Get Stuck In

Most conflict isn’t random. Couples and individuals often repeat predictable patterns rooted in protection, fear, old wounds, and automatic reactions.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to identify the cycles that keep you stuck and understand what drives them beneath the surface. More importantly, you’ll learn how to shift your cycles into conversations that feel more collaborative, connected, and effective.

Communicate From a Grounded, Clear, and Honest Place

When emotions rise, communication often becomes reactive. We may criticize, defend, withdraw, over-explain, or avoid saying what we truly mean.

This workshop will help you develop skills for communicating with greater clarity, emotional honesty, and grounding. You’ll learn how to express yourself in ways that deepen understanding instead of escalating conflict, while also allowing you to stay connected to yourself and your relationship.

Learn How to Nurture and Cherish Your Relationships

Healthy relationships are not built solely through conflict resolution. They are built through intentional care, emotional responsiveness, shared values, and daily acts of connection.

Together, we’ll explore how to strengthen relational safety, foster intimacy, and create relationships that feel more supportive, resilient, and meaningful over time.

Who This Workshop Is For

This workshop is for anyone who wants to improve the quality of their relationships, whether romantic, familial, professional, or interpersonal. You can register as an individual or a couple and you do not need to be in crisis to benefit.
