Facing Life’s Challenges in a Supportive Environment
People usually come to counselling when something in their life isn’t working for them, and they want change. Common problems people may want to address include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Family problems
- Illness
- Trauma
- Disconnection from others in their lives
- Relationship or familial conflict
Other times, people are dealing with a difficult situation (e.g., illness, loss of a loved one, infidelity), or a change in life circumstance (e.g., divorce, career change) and need support as they meet and move through this transition. Whatever your reason for seeking out counselling, we know that it’s important to you. At Quoin, our priority is to provide you with support and help you get to a more positive place in your life.

What Can I Expect from Counselling?
Because therapy is a journey, one filled with unexpected twists and turns, no specific outcome is ever guaranteed. How closely you meet your goals, however, is largely dependent on the effort and energy you invest in the process. The ride may be bumpy, but with intention and commitment, it’s guaranteed to be a fulfilling one!
When we first meet, we’ll do two things:
- Establish some agreements around how we want to work together. These will be based on what you know works best for you, knowing that it will shift as we get to know each other and learn more about what works and what doesn’t.
- Figure out your therapy goals, knowing we’ll fine-tune them along the way.
As we work together, we will:
- Help you explore what’s going on for you.
- Provide you with tools and techniques that are likely to help facilitate change – and teach you how to use them.
- Provide you with feedback.
- Offer you activities that you can do on your own time to deepen the learning and facilitate change.
“Tanya is an excellent therapist. She is compassionate while helping her clients see through to the real root of their problems. Tanya has excellent insight into interpersonal dynamics and her insights and practical advice have greatly improved the quality of all my relationships! I highly recommend Tanya as a therapist.”

“Tanya brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to her work as a Counsellor. As a previously trained Life Coach, Wife and Mother, she offers solid advice, support and strength in her counselling sessions. She is a wonderful listener and lends a compassionate ear. I have found our sessions to be instructive and helpful in dealing with whatever concerns, worries or anxieties have come my way. I always look forward to my time with Tanya and by the end of our session I am always feeling more calm, capable and more prepared to cope with my challenges ahead.”

“Brooke provided steady support during a transitional period of my life. I used to often expect the worst case scenario but I have now learned how to challenge my anxious thoughts and see a new perspective. Brooke helped me accept my limit of control and focus on what I can do to feel prepared and at ease. She also guided me in improving my communication skills, allowing me to share vulnerable emotions with my partner. I now feel equipped with the tools I need to move forward. I’m incredibly grateful for Brooke’s support.“
